OPEN FENCING: This session gives the fencer the chance to fence other club-mates in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Fencing can take the form of unrestricted bouting, informal tournaments, or some combination of the two. This class continues to refine the skills learned in the previous classes while exposing the fencer to bout strategies, complex fencing actions, the mental game, and many skills and tips of how to succeed as a competitive fencer. This class is month-to-month, and gives unlimited access to open fencing nights at the club). Open Fencing is available to fencers of all ages, and meets on Thursdays at 6pm. While there is some club equipment available, it is expected that the fencer will be primarily responsible for providing their own equipment. The fees for this class are 35/month, or 10 for occasional drop-in sessions (less than 3 times per month). If you are currently attending our Continuing Fencing class, there is no additional charge for our Open Fencing sessions.
Also available during this time are private, one-on-one lessons with our coaching staff. Having trouble with a particular concept? Want to improve your offensive actions on the blade? Want to learn the prime/riposte? If so, then scheduling a private lesson is an excellent way to develop new skills. Private lessons are 10 for a 15-minute lesson.
Open Fencing meets on Thursdays from 6:00-9:30pm. You can come for a bout or two, or stay for the entire time.
